Halloween 2014

Today is Halloween in America. And if Facebook is any indicator, it's a tradition that has spread to other parts of the world as well (such as Denmark). I'm a fan of all the pretty pumpkins lighting up neighborhoods all over our dark town. I'm also a fan of all the people who dress up - it's fun to buy coffee next to two middle-aged men dressed as that insurance commercial lady "Flo". I am less excited about dressing up myself - it's so much pressure. And I always get self-conscious and a little embarrassed when my costume is either way-over-the-top or slightly-on-the-boring-side. I can never get it quite right. This year is no exception. I don't have a costume for going out tonight. I have some fairy wings in the closet, so I guess I could go as a fairy, but that's not very innovative. A sexy fairy is even less innovative and I have a huge problem with the pressure on women to dress sexy/slutty for Halloween. I could always cut something out of a cardboard box, but then I will be that big awkward square in the corner of the packed bar. As I am feeling rather un-inspired, many others are feeling creative.
