Women's Rights 2017

I think I need to write a book on this subject. After working on a blog post on it for the past hour I realize I have so much to say that I can't get it all down in one night. And so I will just leave you with this for now:
I am a woman. I am a mother and I have a career i.e. I work. Those two things can be combined and don't let anybody tell you different. There are a million ways to make those two roles meet and simultaneously be a good mother and financially independent.  Free abortion and financial independence were at the heart of feminist movements fifty years ago and it seems that in some way we have come full circle and they are at the heart of the movement again today. Or perhaps I just live in a different part of the world, where the progression hasn't quite caught up yet. Or perhaps we never progressed. In any case, I am so damn ready for change and progression. I am ready to fight.
