Cold snap dreaming

In Fairbanks, Alaska, we are in the midst of a semi cold snap. It's not quite  - 40 below but it lingers somewhere between -25-35 C below  (-13-31 F below). My car is not winterized, which means that it does not have an electric heating blanket in the motor that can be plugged in to any electrical outlet and keep it warm enough to start when it gets as cold as now. It's one of those things that I kept meaning to do but never got around to and suddenly it's February and I figured I might as well wait till next winter to pay for winterization. So I play a 50/50 chance game when I go to start my car in the mornings right now. Will it start? Or will I be working at home...luckily I have that option right now.
While we go through this cold snap I dream up new projects to do indoor. Today I dream of putting up new kitchen shelves like these perhaps?
