Birthday thoughts

I'm 31 years old today. It's a milestone significantly smaller than last year's "30 with a new baby". But maybe not that much smaller, because now I'm really doing this 30s thing. Last year I was just testing it out; getting a sense of what that means. Now I'm in it and ready to really embrace whatever it means to be a 30-something woman in 2017 (NOT meant as a reference to Sex and the City in any way)
Here are some of the titles that come to mind: mother, provider, team captain, feminist, professional, wife, partner, sister, daughter, friend, community member...
and some adjectives: strong, tired, happy, confident, hard-working, trusting, sensitive, stressed, protective...

As always my birthday marks the beginning of spring in Denmark. In Alaska? Not so much, but the light is back and the sky is blue.
